Where is the office located?
We now have two locations for your convenience:
Dupont Office:
4010 Dupont Circle, Suite 130
This location is located on the basement floor or the Dupont Professional Towers. There is a large parking lot, and the building is handicap accessible. You can best access the suite for the first time by taking the elevators down in the main lobby. You will then turn left off the elevator and left again at the first opportunity. You will follow the hall all the way down to our suite, #130.
Baxter Office:
1017 Baxter Avenue
This location is in one of Louisville’s Victorian homes, turned office building. There is street parking and there are steps to get to the front door with the therapy offices located upstairs on the second floor. There is one handicap accessible parking lot designated for our clients in the back of the building with a ramp to access the building. When you arrive, ring the doorbell and your therapist will either open the door or buzz you in.
How long is a typical session?
Session length may vary based on the service being provided.
Typical therapy sessions are 55 minutes, though the intake session may be longer and you and your provider may determine that shorter sessions are appropriate.
A new evaluation for medication management is 40 minutes, while the follow-ups are typically between 20 and 40 minutes dependent on the severity of the case.
Case management sessions are typically 20 minutes to much longer dependent on the goal and resource you and your case manager on navigating.
What is the hourly fee and how do I pay?
Your investment in Best Life’s services will vary based on the type of service you are receiving. We work to balance making services as affordable as possible for you while being able to offer you the high-quality support you want and need.
Medication management is available through commercial and Medicaid insurance. If you would like to self-pay for medication management an evaluation is $100 and follow-up appointments are $50.
The cost of our self-pay may vary based on the provider you are working with. Typical prices are $105 for Individual Therapy, $125 for Couples Counseling, and $150 for Family Therapy sessions.
We also accept Medicaid for therapy because making mental health services accessible to our community’s most vulnerable members is very important to us.
We also accept most major commercial insurance plans, including Anthem, Aetna, Humana, Caresource and United Healthcare/Optum/UMR. We do also accept Cigna for medication management only.
What about insurance?
We accept commercial insurance and all Medicaid plans for Psychiatric Medication Management services.
We also accept all Kentucky Medicaid and most major commercial insurance plans, including Anthem, Aetna, Humana, Caresource and United Healthcare/Optum/UMR. We do also accept Cigna for medication management only.
We do NOT currently take Medicare insurance plans.
You can learn more about our pricing structure and an easy way for you to submit your therapy bills to your insurance provider for out-of-network coverage on our Pricing page.
What if I can’t afford therapy?
As a teaching practice, we are happy to offer a budget-friendly option for therapy services. We offer low-cost self-pay therapy with our student-therapists. They are under close supervision from our fully-licensed therapists which means you get access to a team of mental health providers at a price you can afford. You can learn more about these sessions here.
We do not offer sliding scales as a practice, but individual therapists may be willing to discuss pricing following an initial session and/or with established clients.
Do you offer teletherapy?
Yes, we do! We have a HIPAA-compliant and secure platform to offer teletherapy for individuals, couples, families, and children in Kentucky.
Occasionally, if public health concerns (i.e., COVID-19) are not a concern and the client has access to the office, we may request some in-office sessions. This can be a discussion between you and your therapist.
Has your office taken extra precautions as a result of COVID-19?
We have. We adhere to all CDC and state guidelines, including sanitizing at the beginning and end of each day and sanitizing client areas in between clients. We also have reorganized our waiting area to allow for distance between clients.
We ask that you bring your own mask if it is your preference, as therapy will take place from a safe distance. Your therapist will not be wearing a mask.
If you have underlying health conditions or any other concerns about in-office therapy, we are glad to offer teletherapy to you.
